O'South Coastal Run 2023 Concludes with a Successful Nine-Day Event
O'South Coastal Run 2023 came to a close on March 12, 2023, after nine days of running, cycling, and pet walking. The event, which took place in O'South Coast, aimed to promote an active lifestyle and raise funds for the Hong Kong Sports Federation for the Blind and the Hong Kong Guide Dogs Association.
During the campaign period, participants completed a 7km running and cycling course and a 3.5km pets course, starting from the outdoor lawn at Monterey Place, Capri Place, Tseung Kwan O Cross Bay Bridge, Savannah Place and finishing at the same starting point. Participants could join the race anytime during the campaign period by registering on the event website.
The event was a charity race, with 50% of the registration fee donated to the Hong Kong Sports Federation for the Blind and the Hong Kong Guide Dogs Association. The female and male champions of each category received HK$10,000 in cash and valuable prizes, with a total value of HK$130,000.
"We are thrilled with the success of the O'South Coastal Run 2023," said the event organizer. "We are proud to have promoted an active lifestyle and raised funds for two important charities in Hong Kong. We thank all the participants, supporters, and volunteers who made this event possible."
In addition to the running, cycling, and pet walking events, the event also included OSC x PUMA Running Activation, where participants could trial run the O'South Coastal Run course along the Tseung Kwan O Cross Bay Bridge wearing PUMA new running shoes.
There were also celebrity events, including an opening ceremony with former Hong Kong cycling team athlete Mr. Wong Kam Po and famous ultramarathon runner Mr. Kenny Sze, and a closing and awards presentation ceremony with guest appearances by Ms. Toby Chan, Ms. Sisley Choi, and a famous visually impaired runner Mr. Gary Leung.
Each participant received a race kit containing vouchers and souvenirs worth over HK$300.
